For Northern California natives Maureen and David, romance bloomed when they were introduced by mutual friends in 2002. A few years later, as the couple was out admiring the local holiday decorations, David stopped to propose in front of large house covered in white lights (Maureen’s favorite). Maureen was excited to accept an heirloom ring from her new fiancé.
Wanting to plan a wedding celebration that felt fun, and definitely not too serious, the couple chose to host their ceremony and reception at the West Shore Cafe and Inn in Homewood, CA, a striking venue offering both lakefront and mountaintop settings. In planning the day, they were assisted by One Fine Day Events. They selected letterpress invitations by A Day in May.
Maureen chose a strapless, A-line gown by Amsale for her wedding day, pairing it with sparkly Jimmy Choo Wedges. Her hair was styled in a chic low bun by Greco Rose Creative. Kari Addison completed the bride’s look with makeup giving her a fresh, romantic glow. The bridesmaids wore classic dresses from J. Crew, along with coordinating Jack Rogers shoes that were a gift from the bride.
David paired a striped blue tie with his classic suit by Ralph Lauren and shoes by Allen Edmonds. For his attendants, he picked an equally timeless gift: pocket watches engraved with their monograms.
The bride carried bouquet of vibrant red, pink, and orange flowers designed by Bellissima Floral and walked down an aisle abundantly edged with an array of ombré petals. The couple exchanged vows under blue skies in front of the bride’s great-uncle Daniel Libarle, who officiated the union.
At the reception, the couple and their guests were seated at tables with royal-blue linens topped by elegant bouquets of pink, red, and orange floral arrangements. The event was catered by West Shore Cafe, with desserts supplied by D’lish Catering. After the couple’s first dance to Brad Paisley’s Then, Maureen and David joined in cutting their stylish wedding cake, designed by Sugarpine Cakery. As a gift from the bride’s uncle, guests also enjoyed a champagne toast with Veuve Cliquot.
After the wedding, the couple honeymooned for nine days in Tahiti. Looking back happily on her wedding day, Maureen offers this advice for future brides, “Everyone else will always have an opinion and you can’t please everybody. Keep true to what you want.”
